Live. Shop. Local. LA: Pop Up.

On Saturday we set up shop on Melrose at Brite Space LA for their awesome "Live. Shop. Local. LA." event! It was great to meet other local brands that participated and some of you that stopped in to shop and say hi!! My friend Nikki (who is also our gorgeous model!!) came to hang and the girls from "Emma Approved"- Alexis and Dayeanne came too! Always a good time with them! The DJ was rad and we were dancing and singing all day! Thank you to Harmonie at Pop Your Shop for having us!

I hope to meet you all at our next pop up!

Artisanal LA.

A few weekends ago Nikki and I cruised down to the Artisanal LA Spring Show- a pop up event at LA Mart that gives you the opportunity to explore local vendors... meet em, get their stories and taste their locally made products! Although there is more then food! Art, home decor, jewelry- we could have stayed and explored all day.

Below are some of my favorites from the show-

 Health-Ade: Pomegranate is my fave!

(Remember when I "cleansed" my new loft? Post here.. They make a kit for that!)

Ghost Pepper & Tangerine!

Best ever. Truffle salt! Trust me.

Cold pressed coffee. Nikki is addicted.

I could live on these! My pick: Cranberry Trail Mix.

Love these! All natural prints- ink from fruits & veggies! Amazing.

(Nikki is wearing Mint "Paradise Tee" and "Tie Dye Harems"

Thank you Artisanal LA for having us!

Jess

Ice Cream Makes It Better.

I am a girl that loves sweets. They are my downfall. Ice cream and cookies in particular. I heard about this super cute little ice cream place in Pasadena and we happen to be down the street so we stopped in! I knew the ice cream would be good, and it was. I sampled a few flavors and chose the brown sugar vanilla bean. But the cookies! I have never had any like them! They pretty much taste like cookie dough. Super thin and.. like, they taste exactly like cookie dough! Told you still working on my describing words! Anyway! Thank you Carmela's for the sweet treats!

It's getting closer and closer! My second pic for the perfect Coachella ensemble involves our way too comfy Tie Dye Harems. Note: these are ideal for sitting on shoulders to see over crowds!! A cropped lace top and some flowers in your hair, will be sure to get you in the groove! Peace and love baby.

Ban Bossy.

There are things I thought would be obstacles in business, being a woman was not one them. I guess I assumed that that was over like five, ten years ago? Women in the workplace? Well.. it's not.

Sheryl Sandberg is the chief operating officer of Facebook and author of the best selling book "Lean In" She launched a campaign this week to ban the word "bossy" - explaining her belief that use of this word discourages girls from pursing leadership roles. Watching this video, and hearing this young girl say that she doesn't want to be a leader because she doesn't want to be disliked- really resonated with me. It made me start connecting some dots in my own relationships, why people act or react the way they do and where that stems from. I had never even thought about a possible solution, which is sad because that must mean I didn't think there was one. I think this is a great step in the right direction to start teaching young girls that there is nothing wrong with speaking up and taking charge!
