One of the fun things about being a designer is wearing your own pieces. I mean, let's be honest the reason I became a designer was because  I needed more clothes! Just kidding... kind of. Yesterday I wore the Mint "Do The Twist" dress in Seafoam. This dress is tee shirt material, which makes it pretty hard to take off. I layer it with sweaters over, or even skirts on top and turn it in to a tank! It was fun to pair it with these Sam Edelman booties- the aztec detail on the heel doesn't quite "match" but it works it that weird "fashioney" way. You know? Finding colors that go don't normally go together but they really do go together, like light blue and rust... I live for this stuff.

Mint Turns One.

 Hello! So I celebrated my birthday yesterday, but even more exciting then that is that it's also Mint's birthday!! It has been almost exactly one year since I started this blog and my clothing line. Nuts!! I can not thank you all enough for your support! It means the world to me! I have learned so much and met so many new friends and mentors that have helped me along the way. Also to everyone who has been a fan of the brand and spreading the word- can't do it without you!!

Aren't surprises the best? I know, some people hate them! I personally love surprises and fashion is obviously no exception. Pairing neutral tones like khaki, with blaring brights like neon yellow, pack such a sweet punch don't you think? They add a little surprise spunk to an otherwise muted ensemble. Black leather shorts and sleek sunnies complete this look. Wanted to also say thanks to Steve Madden for featuring this on Steve Madden Magazine a few weeks ago! Nothing says business like a blazer. It's the perfect solution to any outfit when your wanting to look pulled together and on top of it. Blazer it up baby. I love my black blazer so much that I've bought the same one multiple times and I also have it in red (as seen here) More of this chartreuse color- I love popping it in to outfits and adds a bit of fun to this look. The clutch was gift from Italy and I am obsessed with the deep royal blue color and tassels! Who doesn't love tassels?!

First off, sorry I have been MIA! It's been nuts finishing up production on new Mint pieces which you will see this coming week!! Eeeeee! So so so excited! Cruised round the super charming/artsy Echo Park hood the other day... I was diggin this darker ensemble but I had to add a pop of color otherwise the vibe is just too moody for me, especially when I was feeling so good! Funny story- my toes are so small they never quite reach the end of my heels! Oh well... shows more color. How about that army and neon together?! It's one of those unexpected like you don't think it will work but for some reason it does work- kinda things, I love things like that! You never know unless you try right?! There's a little life lesson for yah (wink, wink)

Summer Lovin'

Happy Monday! Couldn't help but share this lovely summer inspiration list my best friend, Megan wrote! Sure makes my mind wander...

1. Flip through a well loved book and find a new summer favorite

2. dive into the ocean... Forget the wetsuit... The cold is good for you!

3. Run barefoot anywhere... Grass, sand... It's time for "summer feet"

4. Forget the tv and find a freebie (hike, concerts in the park, afternoon surf session... You name it the summer is full of free entertainment) 

5. No makeup. No problem. 

6. Lay in the shade of a tree and look up... The view is always so nice from there

7. Find yourself enjoying those rare moments where you don't have your phone on you.

8. Go to a concert and dance your ass off. I know you can move!

9. Make your own Popsicles out of delicious juice... So tasty and healthy

10. Laugh, smile, and be grateful for all you have!
