Alright, Alright, Alright.

Checking in! Not sure if you watched the Oscars but aside from the fashion (Lupita Nyong'o and Kate Hudson were my faves- and I'm pretty sure everyone elses') the speeches were what really blew me away. What Matthew McConaughey said particularity stood out to me and I've been thinking about it quite a bit today. Cliff notes: Matthew spoke about someone asking him long ago who his hero was. His reply? "Me in ten years" Well, ten years rolled around and he was asked again. His reply... "Me in ten years" It got me thinking a lot about the relationships we have, not with each other- but with ourselves. It's easy to get so wrapped up in this competitive thing, or striving to be like someone else, or proving yourself to someone else. The relationship you have with yourself, meeting your personal goals- not for anyone else.. not to be like anyone else, or one up anyone else.. but for YOU. Make yourself proud and yet never be satisfied. You are the only one who knows what you are truly capable of and at the end of the day. So there's my Monday inspirational speech. Go get em'

2013: A Few Looks.

Here are some pics from over the last year. It's kinda cool being able to keep this photo diary! Going through these makes me realize what a pivotal year this has been for me. A lot of ups and downs. Hard work. Lesson's learned. Thank you for being a part of my journey, wether it be scoping the blog or supporting my line. It means the world to me. Cheers to a wonderful 2014. Can't wait!!

 One thing I hate: rules. Especially fashion rules. Okay, okay... I'm no Miley Cyrus when it comes to breaking fashion rules (no fishnet dresses with pasties for me, sorry) but there is one rule in particular that brings out the rebel in me: no white after labor day. How lame am I that I this is my rule I break? Is this even a rule anymore?! I'm pretty sure that it's been overthrown because the general population has realized white is in fact perfect for Fall/Winter. I paired my white skinnies with my new favorite denim shirt from Rails. One thing about these Rails shirts- you feel like you've had them for-ev-err... (note the Sandlot reference) they are so snuggly and soft, I can't seem to take them off. I'm even wearing one now as I write this, FYI. My new burgundy oxfords from Sam Edelman completed this look- perfect for my day cruising around Venice.

 I just want to eat this bag!! It reminds me of like a cherry candy or something! This tank is like the sister to my "lips dress" (seen here) something about kiss prints, so fun and flirty! The wall behind me actually has a really interesting story behind it. The singer Elliot Smith shot the cover for his album Figure 8 here. Fans come from far and wide to pay tribute and write messages to the late singer. It's a sad story but the vibe of the place is so happy, a reminder that we are all connected and how much one person can touch so many people. It's really beautiful when you think about it. Happy Wednesday!

So in love with this playful print from our friends at Indah. I belted and folded over this dress to accent it's flirty vibe. The blazer adds a little sophistication- I mean, blazers always add sophistication! If you don't have a basic black blazer it's time to get one!! Living in these sunnies from BP lately! Probably my best find in a while. And of course, my favorite booties from Sam Edelman. Will never stop loving them.
